It's been a while since we've updated this page, so here we go.
Wow, what a great December!....playing Skinners in Brookings, the Arrow in Huron, and ending the year with a BANG at the Legion in Sioux Falls. When looking at 2011, it was a year of great changes, and new beginnings....January has started off with the band having the 6th and 7th off to recuperate....come this weekend, we're back to the coolest little bar with the biggest crowds in SD, The Red Arrow Bar in Huron. Two nights, guaranteed to bring a tear to your eye, and a pang to your liver....Also, don't forget to donate to the Polar Plunge master, Tom Hiles and Team Black Water....go to the Facebook page for Black Water Band, and find Toms link.

1/21/11 & 1/22/11 -
The Thirsty Duck in Sioux Falls; what else can I say but “Wow!” Every time we play there we’re treated to a huge crowd of great people who know how to party, and a staff that is top-notch. We are also truly blessed that we have such a great friend in Sioux Falls that doesn’t mind sharing her beautiful home with 6 dirty band members for the weekend. There was much fun to be had after the bar closed, which came in the form of people being dog-leashed to beds, bookcases full of cookies blocking bedroom exits, people holding cigarettes with gloved feet, and foreign objects being removed from the anuses of animals. (The dog ate it; it was not put there.) So, aside from a recliner that didn’t recline, it was a great weekend. We can’t wait to do it all again!

6/25/10 & 6/26/10 -
Our first time at the Thirsty Duck in Sioux Falls, SD turned out to be a success. We played to a full house each night, and had one of the most fun crowds of the year. The weekend ended on a down note though, as Tony and Rick had there duffel bags stolen out of the band truck. It had Tony's cell phone, the band's checkbook, and Tony's contact book in it. There is a reward for any information that leads to the ass kicking of the individual(s) involved.

6/18/10 -
Hat Daze in Canby, MN was a great time! Thanks to Dan at the Apollo for putting on a hell of a time for everyone!

6/12/10 -
Wow! What a PARTY!!! Thanks to the Clark County Riders and the city of Bradley for a fantastic time at the bike rally!

6/5/10 -
We headed down to Niobrara, NE and had a really good time and some really good breakfast burritos!!

5/23/10 -
The Black Water Band would like to say congratulations to our lead singer, Dustin and his wife, Jill on the birth of their first child, Sophie Jean Mullaney. Hopefully she grows up soon so she can take over as our lead singer and finally put us over the top!

5/22/10 -
The BWB had yet another great show at Thirsty's in Mitchell! Also, Dustin and Marty got to meet a real Ninja at McDonalds!

5/14/10 & 5/15/10 -
2 nights at the Red Arrow in Huron. What more can we say?

5/1/10 -
We were given the fantastic opportunity to play for Tom, a member of the South Dakota National Guard, at a surprize party at the armory in Sioux Falls. Thank you to Tom and every other service member, past, present and future, for your service and sacrifice for our freedom to have live music and parties. Good luck and come home safe!

4/24/10 -
Brownie's Bar in Aurora is a complete BLAST people!!! Thanks to Aaron and the beautiful bartending staff for another great night with the BWB!

4/17/10 -
The Black Water Band took a trip out to JT's hometown of Miller, SD and got to party with the great folks at the Turtle Creek Saloon! Someone told us it was a bigger crowd than New Year's Eve! Make sure you come see us back there on July 3rd!!!

4/2/10 & 4/3/10 -
Some of the best BWB fans onthe planet live in Canby, MN and they made sure that Dan at the Apollo didn't have a choice but to hire us back! Welcome back to all the troops who made it home to their families and God bless all those who didn't. Never forget those who fight to make sure we have the freedom to enjoy live music every weekend! And as most great weekends end, we finished this one up at Thirsty's in Mitchell! Shout out to the guys from Eclipse who stopped in to say hi on their way to the "safety meeting" at the Congo... We're still pissed we didn't get the memo. We could use an update on safety!

3/26 &27/10 -
We finally got back to Sioux Falls at the American Legion, and damn do you people know how to have a good time! The maximum capacity for that room says 550 people...well, I'm pretty sure we broke at least 3 fire codes that weekend! Make your demands and get us back down there and we promise the party will be brought!

3/19/10 & 3/20/10 -
"She's only 18, you don't want her." "But 18 is legal, isn't it Mommy?" Oh the Hitchin' Post...such memories!!!! Ha! Just the start to another fantastic weekend that ended once again at Thirsty's in Mitchell with Tom and the gang.

3/6/10 -
Our first ever show at Brownie's Bar in Aurora was amazing! We packed that place to the max. Thanks to Aaron for having us and hopefully we get to see you all there again real soon!!!

2/19/10 & 2/20/10 -
Back to the Hitchin' Post in DeSmet. It was Alisha's brother's 21st birthday, and we were more than happy to help bring the party especially since it was also our lead singer Dustin's birthday! Then the next night we got to party with Tom and the fantastic staff at Thirsty's in Mitchell!

2/13/10 -
Wow! Did we have a blast at the Apollo in Canby, MN! We got to party with some amazing people including a gaggle of wives of deployed soldiers and Kenny, who was on leave from Iraq...a little patriotism goes a long way! All I know is that we can't wait to get back there when it's not blizzarding...

2/1/10 -
We would like to take this opportunity to say thanks and good luck to our light tech, Nick-Sucker. He's moving on to other venues and we wish him the best!

1/30/10 -
Happy Birthday to Alicia at the Hitchin' Post in DeSmet!

1/22 - 23/ 10 -
We opened our new decade in Huron at the Red Arrow with a couple of really great crowds! Thanks to all of you who make this life we lead so special!

12/31/09 -
Goodbye 2009!!!! We rung in a whole new decade with the some amazing party people and some of our greatest super fans at the Long Branch in Pierre! Thank you to everyone out there for a great night and thank you to all the BWB fans for a great 2009! We're looking forward to 2010 being another fantastic year for us and we hope you'll all come along on this crazy ride! For us this is all a dream come true, but it would just be 6 guys making noise without all of you rockin' with us every weekend! Thank you!

12/19/09 -
One of our favorite places to play, the Double D Bar in Brandon never disappoints! We had quite a few suprizes from Schmitty playing the drums for the first time in 3 years, to Garret from Rude Awakening and Timmo from Dustin Evans and Good Times Band coming up and singing a tune with us! We also got to meet Sheik from Octane 99. Get out to see them if you're ever in the Yankton area.

12/4/09 - 12/5/09 -
Two great nights at TeeZer's in Madison!

11/25/09 - 11/28/09 -
Whew! What a marathon of a week for the BWB! We started Wednesday at the Red Arrow in Huron and had a fantastic crowd to listen to the horrid noise we were making! Then on Thursday we took a day to send with our families for Thanksgiving, and we hope each and every one of you had a great holiday! On Friday we went up to the Decoy Bar in Webster and made a lot of really good new friends. Thanks to Scott Wharton from Eclipse for helping us out with a Kick-Ass light show for the night! Saturday we trekked down to Mitchell and partied with the good folks at Thirsteez! I would personally like to thank the waitress who showed me the absolute coolest vacuum cleaner on earth...she looked like a Ghost Buster! I highly recommend checking it out!

11/14/09 -
Our first time ever at the Apollo Bar in Canby, MN was great! Thanks to Dan for letting us party with everyone. It was such a great time, even Dustin's pregnant wife Jill made it to the show! Here's to making new friends and becoming closer with the ones we aready have!

11/13/09 -
Happy Friday the 13th everybody!!!

11/11/09 -
The Black Water Band would like to say thank you to all the men and women who serve and have served in our armed forces. Your sacrifice is greatly appreciated.

11/7/09 -
Finally we got back into the Guesthouse in Watertown! What a fantastic room for live music! It was Corrine's birthday and did we ever give her a treat...although she wouldn't accept a lap dance from Marty... Here's hoping we get back up there real soon!

10/31/09 -
Happy Halloween! Wentworth....the town where retired sailors go to die. (everything's wavy) We went back to Brenda's Bar in Wentworth and made quite a party out of it! Personal thanks to Swiss Miss and Girl Scout for putting on a better show than we did! And thanks to Benjamin Franklin for Daylight Savings Time...giving us an extra hour to party with the crowd!
Special thanks to Tom's sister Traci for being a kick-ass booking agent!

10/23 & 24/09 -
"You gotta sharpen that G!...So's I can keep my pimp hand strong!" Thanks to the Red Arrow in Huron for letting us party for 2 nights! Thanks to Kari for braving the elements even with the old bacon-fever and coming out for a while! And thanks to Kristi and Shantel for jamming with us at our 3am rehearsal...you're welcome for the hangover! On a similar note...if you're a lead guitarist trying to impress people with your drumming ability....don't try to sit on a drum stool after 5 hours of drinking. It can only turn out badly for you...but on the flip side, it's hilarious for everybody involved.

10/16 & 17/09 -
Holy crap do I love playing in Pierre! The Long Branch is pretty much a guarantee of a great night...AND THEY GAVE US TWO!!! Thanks to the 80's themed birthday party for reminding us just exactly why spandex and hair bands went extinct. "The silly string makes my eyes bird"

10/10/09 -
Had a busy day "in the garage" trying to create a grammy winner...apparently the only topic that any song can be written about is whiskey...wish us luck! Then we got to party with our good friends from the Solera Band down at the Red Arrow.

10/09/09 -
Another fantastic night at the Hitchin Post in the city that gave us Laura Ingalls Wilder. Although it was freezing out and it snowed for the first time this year, we made it a hot place to be on a South Dakota Friday night!

10/07/09 -
How many songs do we play in a night? How does over 12 million sound? Also, how does about 60 sound?

9/30/09 -
I think we need to start a new holiday called Genitals Out Day! Just think about how much more comfortable everybody would be without all that constriction.

9/26/09 -
After a scheduling fiasco, the Black Water Band finally got back into the Double D Bar in Brandon. We had our best crowd there yet and got to party with a Bride and a Bachelorette! Couple that with Dustin, Tom, JT and Marty almost getting raped on stage by a pride of cougars...and it turned into a pretty good night!
"You took an elf's hat? Why would you steal an elf's hat?"

9/25/09 -
It was Dakota State University's homecoming, and the party was at TeeZer's with the Black Water Band! The show was great and we even got to see part of a fight in the street afterwords. We keep trying to remind Gomez not to drink beer outside...maybe the city cop's recommendation will stick a little better....maybe.

9/18/09 -
The Wissota 100 at the State Fair Grounds in Huron turned into a loud, awesome show. Although we couldn't hear much of ourselves over the roar of the cars zooming by us not more than 30 feet away, the crowd was really into us.

9/5/09 -
We finally got back over into Minnesota for the Arco street dance, and it was awesome. We got perfect weather and even the people sitting in the campground across the lake could hear us like their radios were playing.

8/28/09 -
TeeZer's in Madison is turning into one of our favorite places to play. Thanks for another great night!

8/15/09 -
We were expecting a great crowd and an unforgettable night...and that's just what we got at the Elk's "Street Dance" (which was actually in the parking lot). We had been contemplating all day on whether the weather (see what I did there?) was going to hold out for us. Finally about 5:30pm, we said "Screw it", and decided to set-up outdoors, even though the clouds were looking rather ominous. We decided after our 2nd set that we had better load up our gear. Tony, being the hardcore rocker that he is, wanted to keep playing. I'm glad we talked him out of that, because within 5 minutes of us setting our instruments, or whatever, down, it started to sprinkle. Another 10 minutes and it was a freakin' monsoon. We had 30 people helping us throw all of our gear into 2 trailers (Thanks Bob and Everyone that helped that night), and got it out of the rain. We were all soaked, so we went into the bar and got wasted, wich led to Tony's garage where we experienced a 3am rummage sale and discovered the only living Zebra Dog known to man......sorry Devin.

8/14/09 -
Ahh. The Hitchin' Post in DeSmet, SD. Just another Friday night....except that it ROCKED! You guys were just as awesome as ever. We also had the privilege of debuting our new lead guitar player, Jerry (J.T.) Turner. This was his first night with us, and needless to say, we weren't disappointed. He brings with him years of experience with numerous different bands. We are looking forward to all of the new songs that we will now be able to play with him on board. Look for him at our next show.

8/8/09 -
The Broadwater Resort on Lake Madison. What looked like a crappy, stormy afternoon turned into one of the most beautiful nights ever, and we took advantage of it by rocking the entire North side of Lake Madison. The resort has an awesome party boat that we're going to have to try out next time we visit.

8/6/09 -
Our condolences go out to our drummer, Tony Hulst and his family on the loss of his grandmother. We would also like to thank our friends Signal 21 for stepping up and playing at the wedding we unfortunately had to cancel.

7/25/09 & 8/1/09 -
We helped make special a couple of nights for some special kids who decided to spend the rest of their lives together. Congratulations and thank you for making us a part of your night.

7/24/09 -
Quick! To the Arrow! Thanks to everyone in Huron who has supported this gaggle we call a band for so many years. We'll always come back, no matter how big we get.....so go ahead....make us big!

7/10/09 -
Back to the Hitchin' Post. We would like to take a moment to thank that bachelorette party for making this night a party. It was a special time for all of us when you decided to take over the stage and dance with us. Then Shmitty had to ruin it all...stupid hat.

7/3/09 -
Wentworth Street Dance!!! It rained...all day...and night...but we persevered. Inside Brenda's Shoebox....errr....Bar, we lit the place up! Thanks to the city of Wentworth for having us and thanks to Traci Burger for making it all happen!

6/20/09 -
"Do you have a minute to hear about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ?" So after the Highmore debacle, we all woke up...in Pierre...in the Walmart parking lot...and headed down to Oahe Days. Let me tell you, the people in Pierre know how to throw a party! The night before, they had our buddies Judd Hoos playing in the park and they apparently tore the place up, but the kids wanted more. After some technical issues with Tom's pedal board, we got started and the crowd was ready. We tore through each set and the crowd never eased up, even on our breaks! Three cases of beer, a bottle of Windsor, a smashed guitar and 4 hours later, we finished the best show of the year with Dustin jumping into the crowd and Tom blowing fireballs into the sky. Thank you Pierre!!!
To Kari - You looked hotter than the Sun that night, but I'm sorry - your tour has to end here.

6/19/09 -
Chahl's Bar in Highmore...Do I have a story for you! It all started out like a normal show. The bar was even kind enough to let us put up tents and a camper in someone's yard. The show was great, the fans were fun and we finished without incident..that's when it all broke loose. Gomez walks into a bar...a guy says to a girl "I'm going to beat you're ass"...Gomez flashes his tiny electric stunner and says "no you're not" and walks away...some jack-ass Highmore townie follows Gomez outside and blind-sides him yelling "you don't just taze somebody and walk away!" to which Gomez replies "ouch". Seriously, blood splatter. A small scuffle ensues which ends up with Gomez in the cop car for a half hour while we have to pack his shit. Needless to say, nobody got "tazed", but how do you explain that to Barny Fife's evil idiot cousin, who just happens to be the sherrif? I digress. After 4 or 5 complimentary breathilizer tests, we were allowed to leave the bar, but instead of staying in the tents and camper, we tore down and got a police escort to the city limits at 3:00am....I don't think you'll be seeing Highmore on our schedule any time soon!

6/6/09 -
Holy crap...the festival in Niobrara! We were booked for an outdoor show, but the rain forced us in to the community center, but we turned a rainy day into an earth shaking event. We'd like to thank the man with the crutches for informing us that Enter Sandman is not music for Native Americans, and for making his point poignantly clear by swinging said crutches at the lead singer. Dustin would also like to apologize to his sister Crystal for "telling" her she coudn't come to Niobrara, NE to watch the show...on her birthday...He's really a giant dickface.

5/29/09 -
The Arrow...what else can I say?

5/2/09 -
Got a little Captain in ya? The folks at the Double-D Bar in Brandon liked us so much the first time, they had us back! Now it's possible that we drank a little too much, but it's also possible that you didn't drink enough...either way, everybody had a great time!

4/25/09 -
Back to the Hitchin' Post in DeSmet! Superfans Wendy and Mars made the drive from Mitchell to come party with us and we tried to rock the place to the ground...it's still standing, but that just means we'll have to try harder next time!

4/11/09 -
We hit the Jackpot.....literally! Thanks to everyone who came out to see us at Jackpot Gamblin' in Mitchell this weekend. After a few technical issues, and some high voltage rewiring during the first set, we finally got to rockin' the joint, and found out that you guys kick ass. Tom even got the website right!
Wendy and Mars staked their claim on the dance floor both nights, and not a single beer pitcher was used as a weapon all weekend. We did find out, however, that April is still a little too cold for camping without a furnace.
So except for Schmitty mispronouncing the name "Cassie" (the super hot bartender) on Friday night, I think we put on a couple of pretty good shows, and hope to be back there real soon.
Also, congratulations to Natalie, the bachelorette shakin' her tail up on stage; it's all downhill from here.

4/4/09 -
"For those about to rock!!!!!!!!" Had a great weekend at the Old Myers Pub in Huron. We told Mother Nature to take her blizzard and shove it straight up her cold bitter ass. Thanks to the guys from Power House for stopping in Friday night.

3/13/09 -
To the drunk guy with no clue how to dance at TeeZer’s in Madison (aka: The Fat Fred Estaire) – You owe us $4500 for dumping a full mug of beer directly into a giant speaker. Don’t worry we’ll take off $200 for allowing Tom to “help” you off the floor and Nick to “help” you out the door.

On another note, it turns out that Dustin has a lot of super hot friends that like to party on the drinking holidays. Happy Birthday to Amanda Jo and Happy St. Patrick’s day to everyone.

3/7/09 -
Dustin would like to personally thank whoever that girl was for walking up and propositioning him…things like that don’t happen very often especially to him, and even though he had to turn her down, he had a fleeting moment of superiority. But now back to real life. It turns out that daylight savings time sucks when you think its 2:00am and really its 3:00am. The nice thing is that the breakfast room at the King's Inn opens earlier.

2/28/09 -
Another new venue for us – the D&D Bar in Brandon – was filled with excitement…Dustin got to microphone dick-slap some chick for the first time, Al almost got into a fight over his girlfriend and Schmitty finally realized that nice guys really do finish last.
If anyone found a half-gallon of vodka lying around somewhere, please enjoy.

2/20/09 -
World Domination Tour 3!!! Give a shout-out to Signal 21 for a great combined show at Old Myer’s Pub! We kicked a lot of ass and forgot a lot of names.

2/14/09 -
Happy Valentines Day to all you lovebirds out there. After a 5 week hiatus, the Black Water Band has returned to the stage…with a new member. Congratulations to Tony and Devin on the birth of their daughter, Allison Hulst. We’re all excited for her to take over on the drums…maybe she can keep time. Thanks to the Hitchin’ Post in DeSmet for letting us celebrate with them.
We’d also like to announce Dustin’s first real on-stage screw up…at a new venue no less. Way to go dick-face, Friday still comes before Saturday. Hopefully he gets it all worked out for when we come back on April 25th.

1/10/09 -
Our first shows of the new-year started out fantastic and ended with Gomez standing on the bar at the Red Arrow in Huron screaming he was going to shove his feet down the throats of anyone who wasn’t self motivated to go home, and Marty yelling at the bartender because he didn’t want to go home…oh, and a taser showdown with the cops. Hilarious.
And to the guy who kept following that poor girl around, even though she obviously didn’t like you, you’re damaged and you’re going to end up in jail if you don’t stop being a douche-bag psycho stalker.

12/31/08 -
Happy New Year!!! A lot of good things happened for us this past year. Hopefully 2009 will see us move forward in our endeavor to bring you great music along with a lot of TEAM DRINKS….

12/27/08 -
Merry Christmas!!! Yet another satisfying weekend spent at Old Meyer’s Pub in Huron. Thank you to all the Ho Ho Ho’s who chose to spend their Christmas weekend with us.

12/13/08 -
To whoever left the sombrero at Thirsty's in Mitchell: Thanks for ruining Gomez’ rhythm. The moment that he put it on, his inner musician turned off. Thankfully it wasn’t a permanent debilitation, and we were able to have a successful Friday night in the home of the Corn Palace. The blizzard that came in that night didn’t help getting home the next day however.

11/29/08 -
Finally broke our new singer into the home crowd at Old Meyer’s Pub. Three weekends, five shows, and not a single instance of pissing himself on-stage, to which we are all grateful…plus it turns out he doesn’t suck.

11/17/08 -
Spent a lovely evening at TeeZer’s in Madison. After a semi-successful debut at the Long Branch in Pierre, Dustin is slowly progressing into an on-stage singer, and found at least one crotch-grabbing drunk cougar fan. Talk about a fist-sized cheesy discharge…

11/17/08 -
We spent the weekend in our state's Capitol, and can't wait to get back there again. It was our first weekend with our new vocalist, Dustin, and while it's always a little scary with a new member, everything went smoothly. We would also like to take this opportunity to apologize to the lady who makes breakfast at the King's Inn, and also to anyone who happened to be eating breakfast around 7am on Saturday morning. In our defense, your waffle machine is extremely difficult to operate. On the other hand, we found the instructions on how to microwave a hard-boiled egg to be very informative. Thank you for that. 11/1/08 - Halloween weekend was awesome at The Old Myers Pub in Huron, SD. It turns out that Gomez, Tony, and Rick make beautiful women. A mini-skirt and some makeup made them so sexy that it was hard for them to beat the guys off...of the stage. Seriously though, Saturday was Zeb's last night with the BWB, and we'll all miss him. He was a rockstar. Make sure to check out his new video, "White Men Can't Hump", available soon in an adult movie store near you. On the same note, we'd like to welcome Dustin Mullaney from Brookings, SD as our new lead vocalist. He brings with him a great voice and a whole new style of music, guaranteed to make you dance. Welcome aboard, Dustin! 9/20/08 - So, we had a great time playing in Canton, SD on Saturday night. We played until 1:30am, loaded up the trailer in an hour, which may be some sort of record, and hit the road. The night was going great, until 4:15am. That little bastard jumped out of the ditch and directly in front of our Tahoe. Yeah, we got a nice buck; Unfortunately, the rig doesn't look so great. Now the search is on for a new truck. Anyone?

9/12/08 -
Well, we just played our last show at the Sunbird in Sioux Falls. Rumor has it that they are tearing the place down to make room for bigger and better things. That, or they are just telling us they're closing so they don't have to hire us again. Either way, we've been playing there for a couple of years and now they are demolishing the building. We'll sure miss it. We'd like to thank Wendy for having us, all of the great bartenders for getting us drunk, and certainly all of the people who came out and got drunk with us, night after night. We all have a lot of great memories from our weekends at "The Bird", even if people had to remind us of them the next day. Here are a few examples. If you don't understand these, you're not a true friend of the band:

1. Tea Party For Tony
2. Guy Under The Cushions
3. Pig Hearts With Pigs
4. Ironing Board Surfing
5. Goat On The Balcony
6. Thunder Road Rage
7. Who Puked On My Wall?
8. Korrie Hogan Strikes Again
9. Hey, Let's wear make-up!
10. In Case Of No Fire, Break Glass

Coincidentally, these are the names of the tracks on our new CD, coming out someday.
